CR Land Human Rights Policy
1 Purpose
1.1 China Resources Land Limited (“CR Land” or the “Company”) always observes the purpose of “value creation” and strives to work hard as a “value contributor”. In order to protect the employment and labor rights of all employees in all links of our operation and in the supply chain, CR Land has formulated and issued this Policy, thus further establishing an effective organizational control system and talent management mechanism.
1.2 This Policy is formulated with reference to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and other relevant principles and initiatives. This Policy incorporates the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into human rights policies, responsibility goals and daily management. CR Land stays committed to strictly complying with all labor laws and regulations and human rights standards in the countries and regions where we operate.
1.3 This Policy is applicable to CR Land and its major regions, business divisions, and specialized companies. All business partners, including partners, associated companies, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to comply with this Policy.
2 Prohibition of Forced Labor and Illegal Use of Labor
2.1 Strictly implement the Provisions on the Prohibition of Using Child Labor and prohibit the employment of child labor in any business and supply chain, and promise not to hire employees under the age of 18 to perform work that may endanger the physical health or safety of minors.
2.2 Follow the principle of equality, voluntariness and consensus through consultation, provide equal opportunities for candidates and recruit, interview and screen candidates according job requirements, personalities, competence, educational background and other criteria; sign employment contracts with employees in written form on the basis of equality, voluntariness, consensus through consultation and integrity in accordance with applicable laws; respect the right of employees to terminate their employment relationship pursuant to the contract or legal provisions.
2.3 Ensure all employment on a voluntary basis, and prohibit inducing employees to work by deception, enticement, coercion, threat or other improper means, harming the interests of employees and forcing them to work under the threat of punishment.
3 Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
3.1 Create a diverse work environment and not to subject employees to discrimination, exclusion or unfair treatment in recruitment, training, promotion, compensation and benefits, labor conditions, organization and participation in labor unions, retirement, termination and business activities regardless of gender, age, religious belief, race, origin, social background, disability, ethnicity, nationality, marital status, illness, etc.; deal with violations of law and regulations in strict compliance with the law and provide training on relevant topics to eliminate any form of discrimination and prejudice.
3.2 Respect human rights and personal privacy of employees and prohibit all forms of harassment and human rights violations, including sexual coercion, threats, abuse, and other related verbal, physical and postural contact.
3.3 Firmly eliminate all acts of discrimination or harassment against employees, customers and other related persons on the basis of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, disability, marital status and any other legally protected characteristics in the process of labor affairs and business activities such as recruitment, compensation, promotion, training, etc.
4 Freedom of Speech, Expression and Association
4.1 Respect the democratic rights and freedom of expression of employees; establish a sound democratic communication mechanism, set up labor unions, recognize and respect the democratic management rights of labor unions; protect employees' rights to information, expression and supervision, and provide diverse channels for employees to express their opinions and give feedback on their demands. Establish regular employee communication and feedback mechanisms to listen to employees' opinions, optimize management measures, continuously enhancing management and employee satisfaction.
4.2 Respect the right of association of all employees and support employees to participate in social groups and organizations in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and laws of China.
5 Working Conditions and Social Security Guarantee
5.1 Assure employees of proper working hours, remuneration and benefits, leave guarantee, etc., strictly comply with the provisions of local laws and regulations, and fully protect the legal rights and interests of employees in recruitment, promotion, resignation, working hours, remuneration and benefits, etc.
5.2 Implement equal pay for male and female employees and equal pay for equal work, respect employees' rights to rest and leisure, provide paid holidays for employees, establish harmonious and stable labor relations with employees, and protect employees' rights to participate and appeal.
5.3 Create a enabling working environment, actively promote the construction of a health management system for employees, promote their physical and mental health in all aspects; provide adequate development opportunities for employees, and encourage them to give full play to their potential and embrace innovation and development.
6 Respect for Human Rights of Community Residents
6.1 Respect human rights of community residents who may be affected by our products, services and business activities, and attach importance to the public interests of the communities in the countries (regions) where we operate.
6.2 Focus on collaboration with governments and communities, and actively develop constructive and strategic relationships with governments; carry out public welfare activities, create job opportunities, achieve sustainable growth in order to make our contributions to community and social development.
